From Hotspur Designs
PNP Railways are pleased to welcome an association with Hotspur Designs:-
Under the pen name of Hotspur, I have been contributing to the efforts of Model Engineers by writing construction articles for the Engineering in Miniature magazine since 1993. Drawings, castings and materials support the three designs that have been produced to date.
The first completed design is the LNWR 0-6-2T Coal Tank in 5" gauge. This model is detailed to produce a faithful functional replica of the full size prototype and was described in the Engineering in Miniature from October 1993 till May 1999. |
The second locomotive design I am offering is the LSWR 2-4-0 Well Tank locomotive in 7 1/4" gauge. This model is quite small and is less than 40" 1ong. The construction series began in the Engineering in Miniature in September 1999. |
The third locomotive design is for the LNWR 0-4-2T Dock Tank locomotive in 5" gauge. This design will not be serialised in any magazine. The front half of the 'Dock Tank' chassis is identical to the 'Coal Tank' so those builders who want a totally authentic model could use the 'Coal Tank' drawings for the details below the footplate. The 'Dock Tank' drawings will include a number of simpler alternatives for many of the axle and cylinder assemblies. |
