This range of rolling stock has been designed for practical use as well as encompassing the look of narrow gauge prototypes. The range uses many standard components therefore allowing body types to be changed between chassis. Wagons can be supplied without brakes or with a vacuum and hand brake combined.
The range consists of a Tipper, Tank and Slate wagon. The Slate wagon can be converted for use as a driving truck.
The free running chassis are constructed from strong channel section and laser cut components with a stout bow end buffering plate and two coupling points one at 4¼" narrow gauge standard and one higher, laser cut couplings are available which allow for drawing in tension and propelling by the bow end buffering plate. Coupling, uncoupling or exchanging types of coupling can be carried out in seconds.
The wheel sets are C.N.C machined in EN8 steel and can be supplied as recessed discs or with four holes. The 1¼" axles run in 20mm bore self-aligning sealed ball races, which are connected to the chassis with two-stage suspension.
The two-stage suspension consists of a special subtle rubber and a novel free movement of 8mm (5/16"), which allows any wheel to drop instantly should the railhead be uneven or if the chassis lifts. When for instance tipping this should help to ensure that even on rough track the wheel flanges should remain engaged.

Driving Trucks
The slate wagon can be converted to a rather nice driving truck, available in two formats, either with battery and vacuum pump controls, or with coal and water bunker.

Chopper Couplings
The PNP Railways range of chopper couplings is intended to be semi-scale and usable, thus it does not follow any particular design closely but does however capture the feel and ease of use of the full size examples.
They can be supplied in both 1/4 & 1/3rd Scale unsprung and Sprung. Both types look very prototypical when used in conjunction with our vacuum hose and swan neck set.
