The model was commissioned by Walter Harper, a former British Railway surveyor in the 1970s. 

The model is currently in the care of John Littlechild (of Starlight Express fame) who does a splendid job of maintaining and improving Sir Percivale

The model was originally built by Coleby, Simkins in 1973 for the well-known surveyor turned railway author Brian Hollingsworth.

Mount Kilimanjaro is on loan from PNP Railways to the Rugby Society of Model Engineers

Back in 1996, I had a vision—a vision to recreate the magic of the Lynton & Barnstaple Railway by building my own replica of Lew. I wanted to capture the essence of this iconic locomotive on 7¼" gauge.

Lew is poised to embark on new adventures at Cutteslowe Park near Oxford, cared for by The Oxford Society of Model Engineers.
